An special insurance format developed together with the Gothaer for commercial short-term leases ensures, for example, the tenant automatically with each booking – without additional costs. This allows us and our landlords to react flexibly, quickly and securely to the different pop-up projects and the needs of the customers directly and without long, often bureaucratic ways.



This is similar to the communication between landlord and tenant, the conclusion of tenancy agreements and the payment processes that are digitized via our online platform. Go—PopUp provides landlords, owners and property managers with smart online tools for the management of their spaces, or manages them on request, from inquiry management to the entry and exit of short-term tenants for pop-up stores. Our partners in the real estate sector include well-known companies and groups such as CBRE, Engel & Völkers or Unibail Rodamco, who let us rent their commercial spaces for interim and short-term leases and use our know-how for pop-up stores.


Here today, gone tomorrow: High relevance in the age of digitization

The retail sector is changing, so are the needs of the tenants and the performance spectrum of the commercial real estate. Instead of an asset value, the use value is now the focus, i.e. the performance of a store or commercial space for specific – increasingly short-term – requirements. Thus, the classic POS – Point of Sale – becomes the POE – the Point of Experience – and thus the commercial space becomes a stage for marketing campaigns and less the pure sales area for products. The consumer no longer distinguishes between on- and offline, the product or service is purchased where it is easiest for the customer. The acquisition of new customers takes place, for example, in the Pop-Up store of a brand, because products can be physically and emotionally experienced, but they are bought online later. There is no longer a separation between online and offline, so the tenants of tomorrow are called Amazon, Zalando and Co.



While it was some time ago that it was still possible to conclude tenancy agreements with a term of 10-15 years, there is hardly any tenant yet to take this risk. As a consequence, we are now already seeing shortening of rental periods to 1-3 years. This development is no longer to be stopped and we will intensively see what we do today already with Go—PopUp in practice: on-demand stores with a minimum running time of one day, as part and response of the age of agile retail.
